Today we have a 2014 Honda CR-V and we're going to take care of it a little bit. You do want to replace your engine air filter quite often. I'd say about once, maybe twice a year, just to keep those MPGs high and to keep your engine running well. So this is the new one. We will put this one in but first let's get the old one out. With this one, it seems like there's a lot going on but it's actually easier than you think. more

Ryan: Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2019 Honda Odyssey, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the PTC Custom Fit Engine Air Filter. So right away, I went ahead and just pulled out our factory air filter, which is this one here, and that way we can kind of do a little comparison. So if I hold them side by side, you can see they're pretty much identical, and you should know that it's going to work. You're not going to have to worry about any issues as far as that goes, but you can see at the top here, the PTC is nice and clean and the original one is starting to show some wear. It's been doing a good job at keeping your engine clean. more

Rob: Hey everybody it's Rob here at etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at the PTC custom-fit engine air filter on our 2017 Honda CRV. Now your engine air filter is going to filter all the air before it gets into the engine so we can make sure we're getting the best fuel economy and performance out of our CRV. But if we don't keep an eye on it and check it and change it when it does get dirty we're going to be robbing ourselves of the performance and not getting the gas economy that we want to get. So making sure that your filter is clean is going to save you quite a bit of money in the long run.Now I know a lot of us have been offered to have our filter replaced especially if we're at the service center and we're just getting an oil change. Now I will say if you're there it's not a problem to have somebody else do it but I just don't see the point of paying somebody to do something that's so easy that we can do at home. more

Now it's a good idea to check your air filter every once in a while because our filter is going to make sure all the air coming into our engine is clean, it's been filtered and no debris or particles are going to get into the engine, because if it does, it can cause a lot of damage. But having a clean air filter is also going to improve the performance of your CRV. Not only are we going to get better fuel economy, but we are going to have a little bit better acceleration when we're taking off and just overall better performance and it's going to make our engine last that much longer.Now the manufacturer is going to recommend to at least check your air filter every 12 to about 18,000 miles. But you do want to double check your owner's manual for a specific time Now our CRV is pretty new here. more
